The potential opportunities of this investment have been explored by a Football finance expert and it looks like it could become a great deal for Leeds.

The latest on this deal

Football finance expert Kieran Maguire discussed the potential opportunities the club as he told Football Insider: “As a Championship club, they were streets ahead of everyone else because of the nature of the fanbase. But their commercial income in 2019 was £21m, compared to £280m at Manchester United, for example. It will have gone up as a result of getting to the Premier League but the 49ers still feel the club is probably under-utilised.

“They want to use their knowledge of sports fans and the sports market to grow it further. There is certainly an opportunity for cross-collaboration in terms of merchandising. You broaden your merchandise range with this deal.”

This recent news could make Leeds become a powerhouse

These comments should excite all associated with the club and if they utilise this deal properly then they could get the money to become a great Premier League side.

Last summer, the club broke their transfer record as they bought Spanish forward Rodrigo for £26 million. If they increased using their stadium for other sporting events, for example, then more money would come in and they could start to splash the cash on more signings.

With experienced and well-respected manager Marcelo Bielsa at the helm, they could have the perfect recipe to start battling near the top of the division, just like Aston Villa and West Ham United are doing this season.
